A booking page vs taking bookings by DM
Booking by direct message is a fine start. Here is where a booking page makes life easier, and where DMs are still enough.
| Booking by DM | Booking page | |
|---|---|---|
| Customer sees your services | You send a list each time | A page with services, prices and durations |
| Details you need | Asked one by one | Service, options, day, time and name in one message |
| Total price | Worked out by hand | Calculated for the customer |
| Records | Scroll through chats | A dashboard with every booking and customer |
| Paid or not | Remembered | Mark each booking as paid and see revenue |
| Sharing | Reply to each person | One link and a QR code for everyone |

When DMs are enough
If you have a handful of regular customers and one service, a chat is perfectly fine. You may never need more than that.
When a booking page helps
When you answer the same questions all day, lose track of who booked what, or want customers to book while you are busy, a page does the repeating for you.
- Customers choose without waiting for you
- Fewer mistakes in times and prices
- A record you can search
You still talk to your customers
A booking page does not replace the chat. The request opens a chat with you, so you confirm and talk as you always did.
