How often should I change prices?

Review them once or twice a year and tell regular customers before you change.

Should I show sale prices?

Yes, for packages and limited offers. Show the old price crossed out so customers see the saving.

Prices that are too low cost you more than customers who say no. Here is a simple way to set them.

1
Count your time and your costs
Add what a service costs you in materials and the minutes it takes, including cleaning and setup, then add what an hour of your time is worth.
2
Use options instead of many services
One haircut with a length option is easier to read than three haircuts. Options keep your list short and your prices honest.
- Length or size
- Add-ons with their own price
- Online or in person
3
Reward regulars with packages
A pack of five sessions at a small discount fills your diary and brings people back.
4
Offer a trial
A low-priced first session lets new customers try you out. Limit it to one per customer.
